Deborah Bulgrin, soprano, is one of Chicago's busiest voice teachers, especially among the musical theatre community.  She is a native of Lancaster, OH, and a graduate of Ohio University, where she majored in Piano and Voice.  Deborah also earned an M.A. degree  in Choral Conducting and Voice from Washington State University, with Doctoral Studies at the University of Arizona.  However, she feels that her most important musical education came from her years studying and performing in New York City.  Her teachers include Bill Schuman, Susan Ormont, and Thomas Cultice, and she has coached with Thomas Grubb, Nico Castel, Greg Buchalter and Marcello Garafolo, among others.  Master classes include those of Luciano Pavarotti, Marilyn Horne, Elizabeth Schwartzkopf and Renata Scotto.  She cites the late Richard Miller as a major influence on her singing.  Deborah has performed recitals in New York at CAMI Hall and the Brooklyn Museum, and has sung with  numerous groups including the New York Choral Society, Sine Nomine, the Light Opera of Manhattan,  Bel Canto Opera, New York City Symphony, Opera Ensemble of New York, and the Goliard Ensemble.  She was chosen as a soloist for the premier performance of William Bolcom's "Songs of Innocence and of Experience".    Her operatic roles include Mimi, Liu, Rosalinda, the Countess, First Lady, and Pamina. 

Madelene Campos, flute, is a native of Glen Ellyn, IL.  She began her musical studies singing with the Glen Ellyn Children's Chorus , with whom she performed alonside the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.  She received a full-tuition scholarship to attend the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana for Piano Performance, and ended up with a Bachelor's degree in Flute Performance, which was originally her minor.  In between her studies, she won numerous awards, including First Prize in the Society of American Musicians Young Artist Flute Competition, the Greek Women's University Club Music Competition, and was a Finalist in the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Young Artist Competition in Houston, TX.  Madelene earned her Master's degree in Orchestral Studies (with a focus on flute and piccolo) at Roosevelt University-Chicago College of Performing Arts.  While at Roosevelt, she was the first place winner of the Concerto Competition, resulting in a performance of the Nielsen Concerto with the RU Symphony Orchestra.  She has been a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the Spoleto USA Festival, and the Immanuel and Helen Olshan International Texas Music Festival.  She has performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Milwaukee Symphony, the American Ballet Theatre, and the Chicago Philharmonic (formerly Symphony II).  Ms. Campos performed a solo recital, live on WFMT in August of 2008 as part of the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, and most recently performed as 2nd flutist for the entire 2008-2009 season at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.  She is also the flute instructor for the British Music School of Chicago.

Crystal Stohr Hall, oboe, is originally from St. Paul, MN, and currently resides in Chicago, IL, where she is an active free-lance musician, playing with many area orchestras, including the South Bend (IN) Symphony, the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra, and the Illinois Philharmonic.  She also holds  the second/English horn position with the Rockford Symphony, and was principal oboe of the Illinois Symphony from 2006-2009.  Other guest appearances have included the Louisiana Philharmonic and the Florida West Coast Symphony.  She earned degrees from the Oberlin Conservatory and the University of Texas at Austin.  Her teachers include James Caldwell, Rebecca Henderson, Richard Killmer, and Basil Reeve.  In addition to playing with Bel Sonore, Crystal is the oboist and Director of Educational programming  for the Fifth House Ensemble, another Chicago area chamber music group, developing and implementing  long-term residencies in Chicago area schools that integrate music into the academic curriculum.  Recent summer appearances have included the Midsummer's Music festival in Door County, WI, and the Marrowstone Music Festival in Bellingham, WA (as faculty, 2005 and 2008).  From 2004-2006 she was a regular member of the oboe section of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and a Musicorps fellow, bringing music to audiences in underserved communities around Chicago.  In addition to playing, Crystal maintains a large private teaching studio and sells professional oboe reeds on her website, ReedMonster.com.

Thomas Bulgrin, bassoon, formed Bel Sonore while living in New York City and subsequently reformed the group in Chicago.  He is a native of Laramie, WY, and a graduate of the University of Wyoming.  A veteran of the U.S. Army Band of New York,  he was awarded an M.A. degree in Bassoon Performance from the Brooklyn College Conservatory of the City University of New York.  Tom's teachers have included Harold Goltzer (New York Philharmonic),  Jane Taylor (Dorian Wind Quintet), and Lester Cantor (New York City Ballet).  In addition to playing the bassoon, he also plays the flute, clarinets and saxophones in a wide variety of musical genres.  In New York, Tom performed with numerous groups, including the Brooklyn Philharmonic, St. Cecilia Orchestra, Bel Canto Opera, Goldman Band,  back-up orchestras for artists such as Tony Bennett and Mel Torme, and Broadway show orchestras.  Among the many groups he has worked with in the Chicago area are the Chicago Jazz Ensemble, the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, the Elgin, Northbrook and NW Indiana Symphonies, New Philharmonic, City Lights Orchestra, and back-up groups for artists ranging from Ray Charles to Linda Ronstadt.  Tom also is the band director at the Northridge Preparatory School in Niles, IL.  His bassoon reeds can be purchased on Crystal's website,  ReedMonster.com.
